David Steinberg
CEO
David Steinberg, CEO, brings more than twenty years of sales, operations and technical experience
in the data communications industry to SwapDrive.
Mr. Steinberg founded bridge2bridge, where he helped companies at all stages with strategy in
the areas of business development, channels, and capital formation. Prior to founding bridge2bridge, Steinberg
was Vice President of BioNetrix Software where he was responsible for market development through sales and business
development world-wide. Mr. Steinberg has been responsible for worldwide vertical sales including OEM, ISP,
Distribution and U.S. federal market sales, channel development and support at Check Point Software, Bay Networks
and SynOptics, At Check Point, he was responsible for Check Point's industry-leading FireWall-1 enterprise security
software and Network Management Systems government market. Steinberg was a founding member of SynOptics and was
instrumental in establishing the company's Eastern operations. Before joining SynOptics, Steinberg was the regional
manager for the U.S. Eastern operation at Industrial Networking, Inc., a start up venture and subsidiary of
Ungermann-Bass and General Electric. Mr. Steinberg is an advisor with ASAP Ventures, an early-stage internet
business accelerator company and sits on several corporate and non-profit boards' of directors. Mr. Steinberg has
been featured in various publications including The Washington Post, Potomac Tech Journal and Washington Techway Magazine.
Roland Schumann
COO
Roland Schumann is a former military intelligence officer,
having served both on active duty and in the reserves. Trained in unconventional warfare and electronic
intelligence gathering, he also has practical experience in airborne operations, human intelligence (HUMINT),
counter-intelligence, and counter-terrorism. He has performed risk analyses in Latin America for the
US government and in the United States for commercial and government interests.
Mr. Schumann is also recognized as a data security expert. He co-founded SwapDrive to
enable businesses to store their mission-critical data online in secure data centers located away from their
regular company offices. As the Chief Operating Officer at SwapDrive, Roland is a key player in the development
of policy and strategic plans. He was formerly a senior associate at Booz, Allen & Hamilton where he provided technical
risk management services to the company's clientele. Prior to this position, he was a senior project manager and system
developer for the Thomson Corporation, overseeing complex technical projects for companies such as Merrill Lynch,
West Publishing, and Andersen Consulting. Mr. Schumann has authored three technical books related to the Internet,
"EcoData: Using Your PC to Obtain Environmental Information", 1st & 2nd Editions (published by Government Institutes)
and "The Energy Guide to the Internet" (published by McGraw-Hill) and has been featured on MSNBC and TechTV.
He received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a M.S. in Information Systems
from George Washington University.
Marc Wallace
CTO
As Co-Founder and CTO, Marc is leading the company towards its mission of becoming a leader in web-storage
technology. Prior to founding SwapDrive, Marc worked at Orbital Sciences Corporation as an Aerospace Engineer and
Engineering Manager. During his tenure, he oversaw three successful rocket launches and five successful spacecraft.
In 1997, Mr. Wallace co-founded Web Data Group, LC, an Internet consulting firm which provided businesses and the
government with advanced technology solutions including expert systems and decision support system development.
Mr. Wallace has been featured in various publications and media outlets including NBC News, The Washington Post,
CNET, The Washington Times, InfoStor Magazine, Washington Business Journal, VAR Business and KM World Magazine.
Marc holds a B.S. in Engineering from Cornell University and a M.S. in Information Systems from
George Washington University.
